Wow, it’s crazy that we leave in T-minus 4 days for Beijing! I don’t know about you, but I’m getting excited! Lauren and I are playing a lot of intrasquad scrimmages at practices. This is the best way to get to team “game ready” for our first match against Argentina on August 10th. We finish up with a game, and workout in the heat chamber tomorrow (Wednesday), and then have Thursday and Friday completely off from hockey to pack, relax, freak out, ect. ect. I mean we’re going to the Olympics! We have also received a lot of really cool Underarmour apparel, and Asics footwear. We are going to look great. Hope you can check us out on tv, or on the web!
I forgot to mention something very cool that happened almost 2 weeks ago..Governor Arnold Scharzenegger came to visit the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center! You may be asking yourself how you could forget this Sara? Come on, we’re busy here! Yes, but it’s true, the Governator came to visit all the althetes training here at the Chula Vista Center. He did a tour of the track, archery, BMX, and Field Hockey areas. We took a team photo with him, and then he moved on with his day. He is quite the gentleman!
Our next blog will probably be from China, and there we will have a lot more to write about. Wish us luck, and hope you can catch some games on tv. Now it’s time to put my ice vest on (prep for the heat and humidity in Beijing), and make my way to the field for a bit of running, and then a game. Thank you in advance for the good luck wishes from the Wyoming Valley, and the media hype. We’re ready to make some history. Stay tuned, and GO USA!

Nice to see 2 talented athletes from Mountain Top PA going to the Olympics. I am an 1984 Grad from Crestwood and a lot of my classmates where great field hockey players. We always enjoyed watching them. Even watched You 2 Lady’s through your local playing days. Will be rooting for You and Go get That Gold!! Congratulations!! GO TEAM USA!!
